Please call our office if you have any problems with the portal.

stock_10.jpgPrior to your first appointment with our office, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms online through the portal linked above. This will allow us to begin your dental appointment in a timely manner, and will allow you to fill out several forms that will acquaint you with our office. After creating your online portal, please save your login information for future use.

Your initial visit will last forty-five minutes to an hour, which includes check-in, any information updates, appointment with the doctor, and checkout/future scheduling. Oral hygiene instructions will be provided along with suggestions to help you care for your teeth. In most cases, we will also clean your teeth on this visit and provide an evaluation if there are any existing dental problems and/or proposed treatment.

In discussing dentistry with your child, PLEASE DO NOT use words that may have an unpleasant meaning such as "needle", "shot," "hurt", or "drill".  Avoid offering special rewards for good behavior or relating any of your own dental anxieties to your child.  Every effort will be made to make the dental treatment as pleasant as possible. Dentistry for children is a very important health service and we do everything to treat your child like we would treat one of our own.

We have designed the office so that it is warm, friendly, pleasant and inviting to our patients and their parents. When seeing Dr. Katie or Dr. Curtis you may always ask any questions you desire. This allows you to get to know the doctor, and allows them the opportunity to listen to your concerns, evaluate your child, and discuss your child's oral health. Children under 4 are typically seen by the doctor in a consult area. On all visits the parents have the discretion to accompany the child throughout the office or remain in the lobby. If you choose to remain in the lobby, you will be asked to join your child for their exam with the doctor.

During the first visit, the head, neck, and mouth will be examined, the teeth cleaned if age-appropriate, and only the necessary x-rays taken.  If a child's mouth is to develop and grow properly, the first (primary) teeth must be healthy. Please realize that x-rays, when necessary, enable us to thoroughly examine, diagnose, and recommend proper treatment for your child.

Dr. Katie or Dr. Curtis will diagnose any issues after review of the x-rays and clinical findings. Any dental concerns and the proper treatment will be discussed with you. Thoroughly informing you of any any dental procedure your child needs gives you the opportunity to ask any questions or bring up any concerns you may have while with the doctor before you proceed to checkout.

We will make every effort to make your child's first appointment with us a pleasant experience. We are dedicated to the highest standards of preventive dentistry. We sincerely appreciate your confidence in Dr. Katie, Dr. Curtis, and the entire team, and we look forward to seeing you and your child again. If you have any questions concerning anything, always feel free to call the office at (662) 327-0995 ext 1.
