About Our Team In Columbus

LaurenLauren has been with the Pediatric Dental Clinic since May 2007. Lauren's wealth of knowledge from being in the practice for so many years makes her extremely valuable and helpful in so many areas. Her responsibilities include managing accounts for the Columbus office, communicating with insurance companies, and keeping the doctors' credentialing up to date. She is our Surgery Coordinator and handles all the outpatient surgery scheduling for the Columbus office as well as insurance authorization for these outpatient procedures. The Corinth office uses her as a consultant at times as well. She is married to Chris and has three beautiful daughters, Ali, Emily, Ashley, and two wonderful step children, Ethan and Evan.

SusanSusan first started with our team in August 1992. After encouragement from Dr. Curtis and his wife, Pat, she ventured into using her initial degree in Elementary Education and taught for 22 years. In June of 2014 after retiring from teaching, she returned to our team. Susan wears several hats in the office. She is responsible for helping to be a liaison between our in-house IT company and all of our software companies, maintaining our website, confirming appointments, answering phones, and scheduling referrals. Away from work, Susan loves to kayak, hike, play board games, and target shoot with her husband, Forrest, as well as her adult children Heath and Haley Marie when they are at home.

BettyBetty joined our team in October 2000. She is responsible for instrument sterilization, equipment maintenance, and overall environmental sanitation. She is also certified in dental radiography as well as CPR. Betty is excellent with children, especially when obtaining radiographs. Her precision to detail and cleanliness helps to make her a valuable team member who is greatly missed when she takes a month vacation each year to visit her sister, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Alaska. While not at work, she spoils her Chihuahua, Scooter, and spends time with family.

Ashley-MLoving to shop, travel, and owning her own boutique while going to college worked well for Ashley. But after graduating from East Mississippi Community College with an associates degree in medical billing and coding, Ashley decided she could do her boutique online and travel to festivals on the weekends and use her degree if she found the right job. She found us! Ashley is responsible for managing the front desk which involves checking patients in, verifying insurance, checking codes, reviewing online new patient forms, reviewing with parents what the child's appointment involves for the day, and most importantly being the first person people see when they enter our office. She is a die hard Alabama fan; so, if the Crimson Tide is playing football, Ashley is somewhere watching with friends and/or family!

JordanJordan joined the team in July 2018 after being a manager at her old job for 5 years. Her love for children and the flexibility of this job, while being a wife to Coby and Mom to Steeler, Beckham, and Grey is extremely important. Jordan works as a dental assistant and also assists Dr. Curtis and Dr. Katie at the hospital when needed. When time allows, she helps manage patients who are past due for cleanings. She is CPR certified as well as certified in dental radiology. Jordan loves the simple things of life...football, baseball, softball, riding four-wheelers, grilling, and snack time! Jordan doesn't have to worry about having an alarm clock. Besides having two children, she has two roosters- Cook-a-doodle-doo!

KandaceKandace is an integral part of both the Columbus and the Corinth offices. She has been with us on and off since 2015 while earning multiple degrees to further her career. She is a graduate of the Capstone Dental Assisting Program in Birmingham, AL, a graduate of the Institute of Ultrasound Diagnosis in Mobile, AL, and a certified breastfeeding specialist. She will take her IBCLC boards Summer of 2021. She is a registered ARDMS diagnostic medical sonographer with a specialty in OB/GYN imaging. Before coming back to us full time in 2020, Kandace worked in the ultrasound field for four years while still helping us in the Corinth office. Kandace helps keep the shelves stocked with all the necessary things for the office to run smoothly. She can be found assisting the doctors, but more so, she is helping with all referrals of infants with lip tie and/or tongue tie issues and providing lactation support when needed. Kandace loves dogs, family, friends, and Alabama football.
