About Our Team In Columbus

LaurenLauren has been with the Pediatric Dental Clinic since May 2007. Lauren's wealth of knowledge from being in the practice for so many years makes her extremely valuable and helpful in so many areas. Her responsibilities include managing accounts for the Columbus office, communicating with insurance companies, and keeping the doctors' credentialing up to date. She is our Surgery Coordinator and handles all the outpatient surgery scheduling for the Columbus office as well as insurance authorization for these outpatient procedures. The Corinth office uses her as a consultant at times as well. She is married to Chris and has three beautiful daughters, Ali, Emily, Ashley, and two wonderful step children, Ethan and Evan.

SusanSusan first started with our team in August 1992. After encouragement from Dr. Curtis and his wife, Pat, she ventured into using her initial degree in Elementary Education and taught for 22 years. In June of 2014 after retiring from teaching, she returned to our team. Susan wears several hats in the office. She is responsible for helping to be a liaison between our in-house IT company and all of our software companies, maintaining our website, confirming appointments, answering phones, and scheduling referrals. Away from work, Susan loves to kayak, hike, play board games, and target shoot with her husband, Forrest, as well as her adult children Heath and Haley Marie when they are at home.

KrystalKrystal brought a wealth of experience from various areas when she joined our team in February 2015. Krystal has an Associate of Arts from East Mississippi Community College and an Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology from Itawamba Community College. She worked for five years at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. In addition to her degrees above, she also has a degree and is a licensed cosmetologist. Krystal is certified in dental radiography and CPR. She can be found assisting Dr. Curtis and Dr. Katie on a daily basis. Krystal has a precious daughter, Kinsley, who is her world. Raising a child and being a Mother with a full time job gives Krystal very little free time.

BettyBetty joined our team in October 2000. She is responsible for instrument sterilization, equipment maintenance, and overall environmental sanitation. She is also certified in dental radiography as well as CPR. Betty is excellent with children, especially when obtaining radiographs. Her precision to detail and cleanliness helps to make her a valuable team member who is greatly missed when she takes a month vacation each year to visit her sister, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Alaska. While not at work, she spoils her Chihuahua, Scooter, and spends time with family.

Katie-(Beck)Katie has been with us since November 2016 helping children learn how to improve their oral hygiene while also assisting the doctors with treatment. Katie is lead surgical dental assistant for both doctors. She assists with almost all the surgery cases at the hospital for Dr. Curtis and Dr. Katie. Katie helps maintain the flow of patients and parents throughout the clinic while also being responsible for the Cavity Free Club. She is certified in both CPR and dental radiography. She has a Bachelors of Arts and Science from Mississippi State University - GO BULLDOGS! She has a passion for helping others and working with children. When not at work or church, Katie loves to spend time travelling, flipping houses, and binge watching Marvel/DC movies with her husband, Coleman.

AmberOriginally from Tennessee, Amber has a vast experience working with people of all ages. After spending time at East Mississippi Community College, Amber decided being a stay at home Mom was best for her. After spending a year at home with her precious son, Carter, Amber decided something was missing and has found it working with us here at Pediatric Dentistry of Columbus. Amber is certified in CPR and dental radiography. She loves being a team player and works incredibly well in many facets of the office which makes her very valuable. The newest family member, Briggs, loves having a big brother to show him the ropes and keep him giggling. Amber and her husband, Austin, enjoy spending time with friends and family, and love a Friday or Saturday night at the racetracks.

Ashley-MLoving to shop, travel, and owning her own boutique while going to college worked well for Ashley. But after graduating from East Mississippi Community College with an associates degree in medical billing and coding, Ashley decided she could do her boutique online and travel to festivals on the weekends and use her degree if she found the right job. She found us! Ashley is responsible for managing the front desk which involves checking patients in, verifying insurance, checking codes, reviewing online new patient forms, reviewing with parents what the child's appointment involves for the day, and most importantly being the first person people see when they enter our office. She is a die hard Alabama fan; so, if the Crimson Tide is playing football, Ashley is somewhere watching with friends and/or family!

JordanJordan joined the team in July 2018 after being a manager at her old job for 5 years. Her love for children and the flexibility of this job, while being a wife to Coby and Mom to Steeler, Beckham, and Grey is extremely important. Jordan works as a dental assistant and also assists Dr. Curtis and Dr. Katie at the hospital when needed. When time allows, she helps manage patients who are past due for cleanings. She is CPR certified as well as certified in dental radiology. Jordan loves the simple things of life...football, baseball, softball, riding four-wheelers, grilling, and snack time! Jordan doesn't have to worry about having an alarm clock. Besides having two children, she has two roosters- Cook-a-doodle-doo!

image coming soonIn June 2020, Brooke was very candid with us about putting on the brakes with her secondary education and evaluating what she wanted to do regarding a career. She joined us knowing her intentions are to go some day go back to school and we support her with that decision when the time is right for her. It may not be back to Itawamba Community College or Mississippi State University since she is pondering the thought of obtaining a dental hygiene degree. But for now she is ours! Brooke can be found in the Columbus office, as well as the Corinth office, assisting the doctors with treatment as well as cleanings. She loves being around people and helping people feel at ease in the dentist office.

KandaceKandace is an integral part of both the Columbus and the Corinth offices. She has been with us on and off since 2015 while earning multiple degrees to further her career. She is a graduate of the Capstone Dental Assisting Program in Birmingham, AL, a graduate of the Institute of Ultrasound Diagnosis in Mobile, AL, and a certified breastfeeding specialist. She will take her IBCLC boards Summer of 2021. She is a registered ARDMS diagnostic medical sonographer with a specialty in OB/GYN imaging. Before coming back to us full time in 2020, Kandace worked in the ultrasound field for four years while still helping us in the Corinth office. Kandace helps keep the shelves stocked with all the necessary things for the office to run smoothly. She can be found assisting the doctors, but more so, she is helping with all referrals of infants with lip tie and/or tongue tie issues and providing lactation support when needed. Kandace loves dogs, family, friends, and Alabama football. God is her priority, and she is thankful for the blessing of her future husband, Trey, and son, Parker.
