About Our Team



Cheryl.jpgCheryl has been a team member with Dr. Curtis since June 2006. She specializes in clerical/administrative tasks at the Pediatric Dental Clinic with extensive experience in handling dental insurance along with billing and payments of all accounts. Cheryl can be found checking patients in and out as well as scheduling appointments. She is CPR certified. Her hobbies include watching football, college and professional, with her husband, Mark, and two sons, Mark, Jr., and Stone. So, Hotty Toddy or Go Broncos! They also enjoy traveling, mostly going to visit their daughter, Tiffany, and granddaughter, Savannah, and son-in-law, Ben, who serves in the United States Army.



Lauren.jpgLauren has been with the Pediatric Dental Clinic since May 2007. She is our Patient/ Hospital Coordinator and handles our outpatient surgery scheduling as well as insurance authorization for these outpatient procedures. She greets and manages the checking in of patients making them fully aware of what their visit with us is going to consist of for the day. You will also find her answering the phone and scheduling appointments. Lauren is certified in CPR. She is married to Chris Davidson and has three beautiful daughters, Ali, Emily, Ashley, two wonderful step children, Ethan, and Evan.



Susan.jpgSusan first started with our team in August 1992. After encouragement from Dr. Curtis and his wife, Pat, she ventured into using her initial degree in Elementary Education and taught for 22 years. In June of 2014 after retiring from teaching, she returned to our team. Susan wears several hats in the office.  She is responsible for helping to be a liaison between our in-house IT help and all of our software companies, maintaining our website,  confirming appointments, answering phones, scheduling referrals, and assisting with patients for cleanings and treatment when needed. Susan is certified in CPR. Away from work, Susan spends most of her time with her husband, Forrest, and children, Heath and Haley Marie. She loves to kayak, hike, play board games, and watch college football.


Emily.jpgEmily joined our team in 2009.  Emily is well versed when it comes to the ins and outs of the clinical side  as well as the front office procedures and policies of the Pediatric Dental Clinic.  Emily helps to assist Dr. Curtis with treatments and cleanings as well as helps maintain the flow of patients throughout the clinic.  Emily has exceptional expertise when is comes to appliances for use with children.  Emily is certified in dental radiography and CPR. She loves living in Mississippi where her husband, Matt, serves as an officer in the National Guard. Emily and Matt had one fun, loving son, Rush.  In her spare time, which is not much, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, and loves tailgating at Mississippi State University during football season.  Hail State!


Krystal.jpgKrystal brought a wealth of experience from various areas when she joined our team in February 2015. Krystal has an Associate of Arts from East Mississippi Community College and an Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology from Itawamba Community College. She worked for five years at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Krystal is certified in dental radiography and CPR. She can be found assisting Dr. Curtis on a daily basis as well as ordering and keeping the clinic stocked with all necessary supplies from paper for the front office to toothpaste and floss in the clinical area. Krystal meets with sales reps on a regular basis determining what is best for our office and our patient's needs. As if that is not enough, Krystal is our in house artist who decorates our front doors with a paint brush and paints to correlate with the season/month. Krystal has a precious daughter, Kinsley, who is her world. Raising a child and being a Mother gives Krystal very little free time.



Kandace.jpgKandace joined our team in March 2015 as a full time employee while also being a full time student. She was smitten with pediatric dentistry after she took a course trying to determine her interest for a long term career. Kandace is certified in dental radiography and CPR. She is passionate about her dog, Jade, church, and helping others-especially children. With a full time job and being a full time student, she has very little free time. When free time does occur, she likes to be with friends and family, shop, travel, and loves the outdoors. Another football lover, but this one says Roll Tide!



Betty.jpgBetty joined our team in October 2000. She is responsible for instrument sterilization, equipment maintenance, and overall environmental sanitation. She is also certified in dental radiography as well as CPR. Betty is excellent with children, especially when obtaining radiographs. Her precision to detail and cleanliness helps to make her a valuable team member who is greatly missed when she takes a month vacation each year to visit her sister, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Alaska. While not at work, she spoils her Chihuahua, Scooter, and spends time with family.




Becky-new.jpgBecky joined our team in June 2016. She moved to the Golden Triangle area from North Texas. She has worked in pediatric dentistry as a dental assistant since 2007. Becky is certified in dental radiography and CPR. Becky's responsibilities range from managing all HIPPA and OSHA training to   being responsible for the Cavity Free Club each month to assisting Dr. Curtis with treatments and recares/cleanings.  Becky is married and has two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and is extremely talented when it comes to knitting. One of the ways she uses her knitting talent is by helping charities.


Dana.jpgDana has been with our team since March 2017. Dana actually started with a music degree and worked in education for a couple of years. Dana decided to venture out to look for a different career that would still allow her to be in the field of helping children. She found us! She loves seeing the children throughout the day and helping them with their oral hygiene. Dana is certified in radiology and CPR. Dana's husband is the youth pastor at Mount Vernon Church where Dana is very involved when not here at work. They have one fur baby, a cat, Fifi Michelle.


Katie.jpgKatie has been with us since November 2016 helping children learn how to improve their oral hygiene while also assisting Dr. Curtis with treatment. Katie also helps manage the office's Facebook page. She is certified in both CPR and radiology. She has a Bachelors of Arts and Science from Mississippi State University - GO BULLDOGS! She has a passion for helping others and working with children. Katie is very involved with her church and leads a small group Bible study. When not at work or church, Katie loves to spend time at the river!
